Remote Start

2014 Equinox ,when I start it remotely, the rear window defroster comes on automatically .I tried my wife's 2013 Malibu and find out is the same way .
My 2011 Equinox did not do this ,nor did her 2011 Malibu .
Is it supposed to be that way ?
Anyone else notice this ?
Is it going to come on in the summer too ?
Dealer is closed today ,can't ask them until Monday .
Too lazy to dig out the book right now .

Update ,I did Not leave it on when I left the vehicle .

My 2008 nox does this. Idk if it comes on in The summer or not.

Remote Vehicle Start
The vehicle may have this feature
that allows you to start the engine
from outside the vehicle.
/ (Remote Vehicle Start): This
button will be on the RKE
transmitter if the vehicle has remote
start.
The climate control system will use
the previous settings during a
remote start. The rear defog may
come on during remote start based
on cold ambient conditions. The
rear defog indicator light does not
come on during remote start.
If the vehicle has heated seats, they
may come on during a remote start.

My indicator light Does come on ,that is how I found out .
Perhaps it Did come on in my 2011 with out the indicator light ?

Mine is off when i remote start, it turns on when turn the key on.

The Heated seat indicator is off when i remote start but flashes really quick from all 3 lights to 0 when i turn the key on.

I just went out and checked .
Mine does come on when I remote start .I watched the frost melt on the rear window .
The light does not come on until I turn it on with the key .
It is definitely on though .
I don't have heated seats ,so I can't speak to that .

I was in the neighborhood ,so I stopped by the dealership to ask about the rear window defroster coming on with the remote start.
He told me it is supposed to .
I asked about what happen in the summer or when it is not needed .
He said it senses the outside temperature .

I did try starting with the air on ( 26 outside ) the defroster still came on
So it is not based on your vehicle settings .
I can accept that answer ,until I can test it later in the year .

Can't you fix that in the configuration? I think you have options of what will come on with remote start...
