How to fix?

Can I just shut this system off somehow?

You can try to shut it off and see what happens - this is part of the LCA - Lane Change Alert system.

From my 2022 OM:
LCA can be disabled through vehicle
personalization. See “Collision/Detection
Systems” under Vehicle Personalization page 111.
If LCA is disabled by the driver, the LCA
mirror displays will not light up.

If you have your manual, check the procedure for your year.

Boy, I've gotten awful used to that feature. I would miss it if I had to shut it off.

There's no clear help on the internet as to how to remedy it other than take it to the dealer.
