Rust on Liftgate Struts

Has any one noticed rust on the struts on the lift gate ?
I had it on both sides ,when to the dealer ,they wiped off the rust and the paint came along with the rust .That was in February and they were both replaced .Today I looked at them and the replacements are also rusted .
The one used for the hood is fine .

Went and looked at my struts and no rust, then again it has not rained very much here in a long time.

Is this on a 2010 or 2011?

2011 ,7 months old .It is known supplier issue .

My work Nox (came from PA, with 36k) has rust on them....Most is just minor surface rust, but definitely weather is getting to them.

My Nox doesnt have any issue

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I am sure that after time it would turn into more than just surface rust.
