I have no clue what's going on with your 2018. An internal engine metal on metal tick/knock does not go away on it's own, which makes me guess, it was not this in the first place.
Vac pumps can make noise prior to failure, but when they fail, they result in a brake pedal so stiff, you need two feet and full force to stop the vehicle. Plus, you'll get a check engine light and code associated with it.
Evap purge solenoids can make a clicking when they fail.
Serp belt driven accessories can make a noise before they fail.
Anything out of place in regards to the timing chain will result in limp mode and codes
I'm out of guesses
