And the verdict is...You're off the hook!

Two days after replacing the 5 year-old original battery the Auto Start/Stop "feature" was back to its annoying practice of killing the engine at pretty much every red light. Today I installed the same cable you bought (small plug) and...

- The Hood Open warning still works normally.

- The car will not remote start with the hood up.

- With the hood down, the car remote started and ran for 15 minutes. After the engine stopped I waited about three minutes and tried again. The car started right up and ran for another fifteen minutes.

- I went on a 9-mile test drive. The longest I was stopped at a red light was 1:36 and the engine never shut down. A second red light for 45 seconds was the same; the engine kept running.

- No CEL or any other abnormal effect was noticed.

Did you try pointing the vehicle north and remote start it with the hood up?

I'm kidding! Thank you for the thorough testing. I never tried all that with my 2021 w/ the bypass harness in place. That's a good call to make sure it can't be remote started with the hood up.
