On the Chevy Trax forum there were a lot of posts the first year about long delays for replacement parts.
Windshields were one of them.
A lady in our town had to wait 5 or 6 months.
Lucky for her she could still drive the car.

I had my body shop go through 3 vendors no aftermarket, I have started an inquiry with GM customer service

That is insane. I would have never thought there would be that much of a lag in glass availability.

It was the same way with the Trax. It was a long time before aftermarket companies had glass for the Trax.

Makes you wonder with the way they change up make/models so quickly these days. A broken windshield could potentially send a car to the crusher if glass is no longer available. Or the current situation with the Trax and the 2025 Equinox. I couldn't imagine having the vehicle out of service for months, only due to a badly broken w/s.

I suppose this is a good thing for Equinoxes up to 2024. They sold so many of the darn things and made the all the generations up to 2024 for quite some time.

There were several unavailable parts that parked the Trax for several months.
Some of the cars were bought back by GM and some owners that had loans had the payment made by GM while the car was idle. Also rentals were provided in some cases.
I still check the forum from time to time and it seems GM has caught up with spare parts.
We thought about a Trax for awhile but changed our mind.
There's a lot of them in our small town. Nice looking car for not much money.

The latest style is a nice looking vehicle, as is the Buick version IMO. We'll have to see how that 1.2L 3cyl turbo w/ wet timing belt goes. FWD only is a no go for me unfortunately with where I live and the roads I drive.

I Very surprised also, I work for a fleet maintenance shop and we have windshields damaged all the time. I know with the number of cars out there I can not be alone.

We have a 2024 and we just had our windshield replaced by safe light.
Last Thursday, so I would try contacting them?
