I just purchased a 2025 RS and the Universal Remote works great!
That’s because when the update was released some of the dealers probably updated the remaining Equinox's in their inventory infotainment centers. Those of us who purchased earlier had to wait for it to drop…

I have an RS that I purchassed last month, the dealer perfomed the update tihs moring but it doesn'r appear that the Universal Remote is acrive now. They prnted out my build sheet and will call their tech line and get back to me in a day or two. I did notice that I no longer have the animation on the infotainment screen when you first get into the vehicle before you start it. It was kind of cool that the dash and Infortainment screen both had hte animation. Now the Infotainment screen is blank.

Joe,

Thanks for the informative update! I have an outstanding case with Chevrolet about notification on this issue. Still pending a response. Proper and timely communications on this topic is an issue. Good to hear others are getting the update - so it DOES exist.

Yes it does…👇🏾

I was at the Chevy dealer this morning for Apple CarPlay issues and asked about the universal remote update. I was told they haven’t been notified yet about it. I wish I saw the above info with a specific update #, I would have had the advisor check. Same advisor also said it would an OTA update not through the dealer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I went to the dealer on 3/12 after I gave them the TSB # while on the phone with service advisor. After 3.5 hours there they told me that it's all done. I went out to my vehicle and the universal remote wasn't on the controls screen. I went back to the service advisor and he printed out the build sheet for my vehicle and opened a ticket with GM's Technical Support Group to look into the issue. It took a couple of days for GM to get back to the dealer. I went back there on 3/19 , what they told me would take about an hour, took 5 and 1/2 hours, but this time thry finally got it to work.

FirstNox, I've come to learn a LOT in the process of pursuing this thread.

At my dealership, there was a new Technical Supervisor who's role it is to be up on new updates - they aren't yet. I had to provide the bulletin (#25-NA-021) learned through this forum. (I should add that to my knowledge, this is NOT an over-the-air (OTA) update).

I also learned from someone at https://www.chevrolet.com/, that the reason to create an account there is to have VIN, Name and Address and largely to handle disputes you may have with the dealer about warranty work.

For what it's worth. - Peter
