Hey guys, Our 2021 Equinox LT has just started an intermittent brief front end wobble when cold. It happens when accelerating from a stop, Its very brief maybe a few seconds then goes away. It will not do it when warmed up. Its in the entire front end and steering wheel, Feels like the wheel is going to come off for a few seconds then its gone. It doesn't happen all the time.

Hey Rick,
Did you get anywhere with this. I wonder if it is the tires. They "flat spot" from sitting in the cold and then when warm they smooth out.

I would assume they have the service bulletin, but it wouldn't hurt to take a copy.
My 2020 does it very slightly . Gm has this problem for years with various models . I have a 10 year old Buick that did it pretty bad when i first got it . Dealer kept telling me they couldn’t find nothing despite the tech feeling the wobble in the floor . So I did research on my own found a tsb covering the issue . Told service manager he told me there were none . Printed what I found online brought it to dealer and mysteriously the next day they ordered 2 updated axle shafts . I will say in that car it got 99% better after they replaced them . As far as my 20 equinox I do feel it but very very slight .
Dropped off my vehicle this morning and left them with that bulletin you posted. The dealer just called me after looking at the vehicle and said they are going to replace the 2 front axels ! Thanks so much for posting that, It was a Huge help !!!

May I ask if they did it under warranty? If so was it the bumper to bumper? Or powertrain? I only have powertrain coverage left and don’t want to waste my time with them if they won’t help me but my 2020 lt 2.0 does this

Hi jr1949 , what year engine and mileage did you have ? Was it it done under bumper to bumper or powertrain warranty do you know ?
Check the battery sensor module first then battery and alternator. It sounds like power is being diverted away from your electric steering. Could be a few other things but check those first
Mine does it but I have the 2.0 and the tsb I showed the service manager shows for the 1.5L. I still have powertrain coverage and bumper to bumper is expired so they are like they want to be paid for tire balancing and diagnostics . I know it’s the axles but being tsb don’t cover 2.0 I’m gonna get screwed. I had a 2013 Buick verano that did same exact wobble sensation and there was a tsb on that and they replaced axles and it went away . Service manager said no tsb covering 2.0 FWD Lt .

My new to me 2021 Equinox LT AWD is doing the wobble thing as well. It's only during heavy-ish acceleration. I've only had the vehicle a week and it's got 35k miles on it. I made an appt with the dealer I bought it from. I hate relying on hope, but I hope they're cool about it and take the advice of the TSB on this.
I'm timed out on the 3/36, but according to GM, the 5/60 covers CV axles. Plus I have the mandatory NY state 3mo/3000mi used car warranty. Problem is, I have zero faith with dealer service.

Do you have the 1.5 or the 2.0 ? The tsb covers the 1.5

Mine is the 1.5L.
The frustrating thing for me is, the problem is very intermittent. It doesn't do it on every hard take-off. Even when it does do it, it's only with hard acceleration which I don't do often. For these reasons, I'm not even sure I want to pursue it with the Mazda dealer I just bought this used equinox from.
This dealer chain does have a Chevy store, but it's ~20 miles away. I have a feeling they're just going to give me the "cannot duplicate concern" because no codes are present and nothing is obviously broke. Even if they did follow the TSB, are they really going to install a pair of genuine GM CV shafts under warranty, or are they going to use junk aftermarket shafts on a ~35K mile vehicle. Like I say, all I have is the remainder of the 5/60 powertrain and the 3/3000mi used car warranty.
I feel for your situation too, with yours being a the 2.0T Has yours changed at all? Are you going to live with it for now? I don't think it's anything harmful for the vehicle, other than maybe putting a bit more stress on the engine mounts and being annoying for the driver. Who knows.
