This has happened more than once on my 2020 LT.
It wasn't even raining out and I actually had all three levels blowing warm air and about 20 minutes into the drive the windshield fogged up to the point that you could not see.
I shut down the foot and chest levels and cranked the defrost but it took quite some time to clear.
I have never had a vehicle that did this.
Am I to expect this or is this some defect?

The level has been at the fill line since I got the car... 43,000 miles currently.

Is the A/C working properly?
Yes, in fact I turned it on but still cranked the heat, that helped clear it but it was persistent.
Odd to have it blowing like a wind tunnel to clear it up, and as soon as you back off the blower it starts creeping back.
It's not constant, but when it happens it comes quick.

When using the air conditioner, does the condensate from the a/c coil drip out on the ground like it should? That moisture has to be coming from somewhere. The air conditioner wrings the water out of the air and should clear the inside of your window in short order. The water it removes should find its way out through the condensate drain tube. When it's very humid outside, I've had condensation on the outside of the windshield because of the cold glass coming into contact with that humid air.

Regardless of the air temp coming out, if the AC is working properly the windshield should defog in just a few seconds.

Same exact scenario has played out many times on my 2021 LT. The only way to clear it that's worked for me, is hit the max defrost button to the left, which diverts all air flow to the windshield and runs the a/c if ambient temps allow for it.

Did you have the A/C on? That's the dehumidifier which helps dry the condensation.

Other cars I've had automatically turn on the A/C but I found that on my '22 it doesn't.
When I put the defroster on I can can here the a/c compressor kick in and it blows cold till I crank up the heat.
My wifes 2024 Acadia does the same thing with the fog.

Recirculating the air instead of bringing in outside air will cause the windows to fog up. The cooler the outside air is, the greater its ability to absorb the moisture on your windows.
