I have a 2016 Equinox LTZ AWD, and the steering wheel walks/vibrates at higher speeds (73+) that can also be felt in the driver and passenger floor. The faster I go, the worse it gets. I have purchased new tires, checked the balance multiple times, and aligned the front end. The strange thing is that, at times, the vibration will stop but inevitably start up again while maintaining a constant speed with cruise control. I'm thinking CV axle. Any thoughts on this issue is appreciated.

Considering the things you already checked, it could be the CV joint. It could be intermittent too. If it aligns properly, no extra vibration. If it moves out of alignment due to wear, it would vibrate. I just had a similar on and off thing with the front driveshaft on my son's jeep. He said it was making all kinds of noise and I drove it with no issue. I took a longer trip and eventually started to make the noise for me.
What happens to all of us when we take our car to a mechanic to report a problem...
Thanks for the response. I think I will have my mechanic check out the CV joint. Hopefully, it's just the joint and not the axles.
