Upper trans mount

Chasing mystery (not obvious) knock. I get a driver wheel well rattle/clunking/knocking sound on washboard roads. Small bumps in road does not seem to cause noise. I changed driver strut assy and it made zero difference. Sway bar links are good. Bushings are good. Ball joint is good. A-arm bushings are good. So, I decided to inspect upper trans mount. Under battery box/fuse block area.
this is pic of 2010 mount. the cast flange is different on the 07-09 models.

Lowered subframe maybe 1”. Bit more. And it came out.
if you cant unbolt subframe due to rusty bolts you can unbolt the front trans mount to allow trans to drop just enough onto subframe.

The 05-06 mount is flat. The 07-09 is less flat. The 2010+ newer style mount is also flat. seems odd. the 05-06 has same trans as the 07-09 but use different mounts.

hmm, imagine that? lower transmission. seems the online videos say nothing about lowering the transmission.

New mount. No difference.
Thru on another used strut. Sound is slightly less annoying.
I give up.

Ha, sold car. That was plan of course. Fix motor and sell it. So long, clunk.
