What year? I don’t recognize this fitting. Where does it go? I’ve torn down a bunch of motors.

That looks like the pet cock for a radiator drain to me. Also what year is your Equinox SUV?

I might have thought rad drain but I wasn’t expecting that color/viscous of fluid. Actually, It’s such a clear well lit pic I was surprised it’s the bottom of rad.

See if you see something similar under the oil cap and/or on the oil dipstick? If that's what's in the radiator, it could be oil in the coolant from a bad head gasket. Or you might not see that and I could be wrong.

2014 with 232k miles? I’d say that was awesome. It made it this far. But, that stuff don’t look good. And it’s in 2005-2009 section.

When accelerating you can feel it hesitating… like something’s holding it back from taking off.. like when I’m on the interstate and I’m doing 75-80.. I try to just stay at a steady speed, but now it constantly declines, and I’m constantly having to kick it down to speed back up.. It’s annoying

I’m no ecotec expert. It looks like a pcv hose to route air from valve cover to intake plenum. Air, not liquid. The only stuff on top of cyl head is oily vapor. This looks like coolant mixed with oil? What does your dipstick show? Is it black oil?

That's the clean air side of the PCV sytem. IMO, it looks like that 2.4 is suffering from lots of blowby, which is pushing crank case vapors through that hose, and up into that intake resonator box. You did good getting over 230K miles out of her! They sell modified oil fill caps for these econtecs that have a vent built into them to let excess crank case pressure out. That might be worth a try.

There aren't too many thinks it could be. Is changing your coolant according to or close to the owners manual one of the things you do? That sure looks like old coolant mixed with oil or maybe just really old funky antifreeze. With 232,000 miles I would guess a head gasket.
