From my experience it's all about the tires. Cars that use tires for better mpg seem to put out the most road noise too.

I have a 2022 Equinox LS I find the car very noisy. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the vehicle less noisy?
I have a 2020 and same problem. It all has to do with sidewall height vs width. The higher the sidewall, like 70 or 75 ve width like 225 the more rubber and cushion is available to cancel noise. Also ashphalt roads are totally les noisey and run the tires a pound or two less than spec.

It made a difference. Not a lot. I'm going to try different tires next.
Going back to the dynamat did you put it on the tire wells? I put some down on the floor under the stair tire but like you said it made some but not enough of a difference.

Well, I finally found a recently repaved road. Tire noise decreases significantly. I will have to shop when these tires wear out. Problem identified.
Thanks everyone.
