The only bad comments I have heard is that the 2025 is underpowered. I don't know where in the range the engine hits its torque but this vehicle has plenty of power for merging into traffic or at the high speed end. I am constantly finding myself doing 75 in a 55 zone.

A lot of people say the same thing about the 1.5L turbo in my '24. But I find it to be quite peppy, with as you say plenty of power for merging into traffic, or at the high-speed end (and this is from someone who has owned several fast sports cars in my life). Here in Florida on I-95, where speeds of 80+ are common, she just purrs right along.

Same here. I find my 2021 w/ the 1.5T to be excellent for what it is. Even with 4 people in it and the a/c on full blast. Good lower end grunt for a tiny displacement 1.5, thanks to the turbo I presume. Mid range power is OK. If you have to floor it once up to speed, it does goes from pretty much silent to screaming as you'd expect.

This is my first turbo vehicle. I've owned lots of 4's, V6 and a few inline 6's and one hemi V8 thus far. I started driving in the 1980s when a 6cyl barely made 100hp, so my expectations are different I suppose.

I went from a 2013 Nox V6 with 301hp to the 1.5T with 170hp and the adjustment was a lot easier than I expected. I'm pleased with the power now that i am used to it and have no issues merging onto highways etc. On the rare occasion I turn off the adaptive cruise on a highway, I find she likes to cruise faster than I think I am going.

This is also my first turbo (and 4 cyl.). I've had several V8s, a V6, and an inline 6. My family had many 4 cylinders back in the 70's and 80's, including Ford Pintos and Escorts. Those cars were snails. Small engines have certainly come a long way since then!!

Had a 4 speed Pinto ,an old white Bell Telephone car. Boy was that thing fun to drive in the mountains. NOT!!

I traded in my ‘22 Durango RT 5.7 hemi AWD with 360 hp for my ‘25 equinox, and I’ll be honest, I agree with you, for what the engine is, 1.5L @175 hp and I have the all-wheel-drive RS with the eight speed auto and I have not had any issues, and I’m pleasantly surprised with the power It actually does have.
I’m loving the extra gas mileage as the Durango I only averaged 16 miles per gallon and had to use 89 octane (factory recommended) and now I’m averaging 28 mpg in the equinox and use 87 octane.

I have all the amenities that I had in my Durango pretty much, except of course, the towing capacity which I don’t tow anything anyway, and the Durango was a three row SUV, which I never used the third row. The vehicle was total overkill for my needs.

The equinox is fitting my needs perfectly. I really am liking it a lot build quality seems to be really well on mine and haven’t had any issues so far I just passed 1400 miles and it’s been two months since I got it.

I recently traded a 2017 Foed Explorer with a 3.6L for a new Equinox Activ. I've found that the Equinox is much more responsive than the Explorer was. It pretty much responds like my wife's 1.5L turbo 2017 Malibu... quite nicely. It has a reasonable amount of zip off the line, but by no means the car I would bring out on race day. The only important part is whether or not I'm pleased with my new Red Sled as the consumer... and I am. I find myself a little challenged keeping it under 70 since I'm still in the breakin period. It wants to run like a free range Ethiopain chicken on the freeway.

Well that’s no longer an option for the ‘25’s 1.5l turbo is all you can get…for now

Many of the comments I've seen are like "It's got good acceleration for such a small engine ...". Sounds kinda like "for a fat girl, she doesn't sweat much"

lol well just like a fat girl the 1.5 is adequate and gets the job done
