Hey all. New here. I have a 2013 2.4l making some noise up top. Bad spark? What do you think? Video link of the noise attached.

Yup exactly what it is. Already got the valve cover off and noticed the top chain guide was sheered off. Apparently it's a common issue with these. Got the timing chain kit and will be replacing all the guides and chain tomorrow.

Another funny thing...none of the garages around me will touch these motors lol

The good kits are important. Have a 12 here someone put a cheap kit in from Amazon and guide broke off on side with in a few miles, bought car for parts from the guy that that happened too.

I would recommend you also do the waterpump. It's right there and easily accessible if your doing the complete job with timing chain balance shaft chain, all gears, guides, oiler, tensioners, cam phasers and solenoids (important to also do), and water pump. Should be like 380 on rock auto delivered for the whole kit with all. But I don't think it included one seal for water pump on the tube side (technically reusable) but why risk it. Also I didn't take a chance and added a nice timing cover gasket instead of the kit one although I think they were same. I think mine was a cloytes brand if I spelled that correctly. Which is a good timing component set. I had to do my 2.4 at 114k. Not sure if it was done previously, my chain was slapping and all guides were still there but worn.
