Leaky sunroof? let's do something about it.

It can be a safety concern if it is leaking at the rear post and running over the rear fuse box. If you can get a photo of the water on the fuse box, that will help your complaint. Report to the national highway traffic safety administration at https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#index
If enough of us do this, maybe it will force an investigation and possibly a recall.

I would like to suggest that the sunroof is not the cause of the leaking as everyone has suggested. I have my roof liner down to replace a failed shade motor and can see clearly the attached drain hoses securely attached and continuous to drain above the exhaust tailpipe exiting to the ground. Water cannot fill the wheel wheel unless this hose is disconnected or broken.
My dogs leash was under the fuse box and found damp twice caused me to search why.
BUT, in the channel beside the tail lights there are two plastic hole caps that are decorative and not waterproof. One or both can allow leaking above the fuse box and similar location on passenger side. Then the water can run into the wheel well which does not have a drain. These are waiting for me to apply silicone to make them waterproof.

Dark staining is from the sunroof. Tail lights don't cause that. Drains intact. It overflows the channel. Clean it, it still leaks. dealer says nothing is wrong no leaks at the drains, roof rack or shark fin.

Chris, I see what you mean. I will be pulling headliner down again, not too soon though, and I will look awhere that could come from. Your stains like that still cannot be from the two side drains. The middle could not get wet from them. Unless the 2018 has a center drain.
The back half is a solid sealed glass, well maybe yours is not sealed well enough.

yes, I do think the seal is bad. I have it sealed with clear silicone at the moment. The main gripe for me, the car was certified preowned. I reported the issue within 30 days of buying the vehicle. They say it was clogged drains and tell me it is fine, then it leaks the next rain. They wouldn't dig any deeper, because they didn't want the expense of replacing the seal. no more sunroof for me. this is the last one. Of course my son has a 20 year old jeep liberty and the sunroof doesn't leak a drop.

The two drains when plugged will allow the trough to fill and then overflow. The only reason fro the drains is to empty the trough of the skylight after the rain stops.

BTW the headliner at the back of the sunroof pulls down easy with fingers. You should see water entering with a garden hose above if the flat glass seal is broken
