Lol. Ok, so to be clear, I'm hoping to laugh with you, not laugh at you, but "buy another phone?" Why?.... I would never accept that as a solution, not even if admittedly using the phone in the car is super important to me. Not to mention that the Samsung 24+ is an awesome phone and (just in case anyone thinks to suggest) I rather shop my hands off than use an iphone.

Anyway - my solution, was to disallow/disable/prevent the infotainment connecting android auto when it connects to the phone. I'm not am engineer or developer, but when I thought about it, it seemed dumb connecting an infotainment which has android built in (essentially android auto) to a phone running another layer of android auto..... the infotainment uses Google maps, connects to your Google contacts (once your phone is connected to bluetooth), it has the waze maps (if you prefer), spotify, etc. So what exactly is the need for android auto?? Now, when my phone connects to the car with bluetooth, it doesn't run android auto, just connects to bluetooth. If I need to use any of the other android features, I just say "hey google" and the infotainment responds without any hiccups.

This was my work around and the way I'm using it with all my phones, but to be clear it does not condone that GM should release a subpar product, which can't even be supported by the dealers technicians. I find that much too often people has learned to accept less than excellence. There used to be a saying "good enough for government work" sadly, that has become the norm everywhere. Products are produced with a quick expiration date before they even come out of the box and a lot of people behave like the job they do (for pay and benefits of i may add) is some kind of favor they're performing.

Hopefully and eventually, these infotainment will get a software upgrade that will make it more stable. Until then, do not metal in the affairs of dragons, for you're crunchy and taste good with ketchup. 😜
