High mile “parts” car?

Seller says it overheats. Wants $700. Says wheels/tires were $600 and are new. Must be cheap tires? Says it runs fine but eventually overheats. Quite hi miles though. 275k. I might get it for wheels.

I like the first wheels better, but either are nice. You might be able to make a few $$ in parts, too.

I got the 08 torrent. $600. Has a 24rext battery. 1.5” too tall. No battery hold down. No wonder front end clunks on bumps
Sold wheels for 400. Put on my chrome wheels I got for $66.
Replaced battery tray.
Got a group 47 battery
Probably will do head gaskets.

Found an 09 w/130k miles. Seller wants $2k. I offered 800 and he said 900 and it’s mine. Quite a price drop.

There is a fuse that goes to the fans right behind the driverside light alot of people don't know that..when that fuse goes out it causes the other fan to work overtime resulting in a overheat ..of course it could be other things but I'd check that too

Did heads. Runs ok. Had 180f thermo. Put in 195f. Seems to stay at 196f on highway. I know fans run when you use ac so I’ve been driving it with ac on/off. Took awhile/several days to finally get air out of system. The bypass above WP has a lot of coolant stains. I never removed bypass to peek under it.

Got an 09 w/98k miles for $1200. Thing is spotless.

I found a bit of glue on rubber hood seal and it was stuck to cabin airfilter lid. Based on filter crud, it might be original to car.

Ha. 09 has 2 load range E tires on it. 235/65/16C. Noticed it when I put my chrome rims from torrent on it. Hard to sell wheels/tires with mismatched load rating. 2 pass tires and 2 E tires. People have so many chances to screw up cars. WHY would you put truck tires on an equinox?
Sold torrent. Kept chrome wheels. Put them on new equinox.

Sold E tires. Got 2 wheels with pass tires and swapped tires onto nice wheels and sold crappy wheels. Down to 1 full size steel wheel with good tire. And 2 bare vue rims.
