I was removing the exhaust flange and crossover pipe. 5 of the stud and nuts came out with no problem. Now the bottom middle stud won’t come out. The unfortunate part is that the nut came off of the stud instead of it coming out as a whole. Any suggestions on how to remove the stud if it doesn’t have the nut on it?

You can snug two nuts together, and then turn the lower one to remove the stud. Or weld some piece of metal to the stud and turn that.

How would you snug two bolts together? This may be the solution cause I have no welding equipment

Use 2 wrenches to hold 2 nuts.
Or, use a socket on 1 nut and hold 2nd nut with wrench.
They need to be TIGHT

nuts, bolts and studs. you do know the difference?

Of course I know the difference 🙄 😂. I’ll definitely try it. Sounds like it’s the most effective way by far.

Why do you refer to it as an exhaust bolt in thread title? It’s a stud, not a bolt. You can replace a stud with a bolt. If you want too.

Because I was in a rush and typed it up via my phone. Didn’t realize a small mistake was going to make someone uncomfortable especially if they knew what was intended. My bad for making a mistake!!!
