Good afternoon all. This is my first post and its a big one. I own a 2013 Equinox that is using quite a bit of oil. I have been told that my particular car doesn't fall into the court ordered piston ring fix. So, since I am still paying down the balance of the car loan and I would like to keep the car after its paid off. I was thinking of doing an engine swap and replace the little powered 4 cylinder with a slightly beefier 6 cylinder engine. I just don't know if a 6 cylinder will mount in the same place as the 4 cylinder. My car is also an All Wheel Drive. I have a coworker that has an Equinox 1 year newer than mine and she has a 6 cyl. in hers but its only Front Wheel drive. Can I put a 6 cyl. in mine without having to mess with relocating engine mounts? If I can do this then I will proceed with purchasing a 6 cylinder engine and tear it down and rebuild it from the block out. If anyone has thoughts or comments please let me know and thanks for being here to help all of us out.
