I purchased a used 2022 last week which I like but I'm beyond frustrated with the Infotainment connection to my phone. It connects up beautifully and everything works, AA, calling, music, you name it. Shut the car off go into the house/store/work, come back to the car and it will not reconnect unless I go through the whole pairing process again. I've owned three equinox vehicles before this one, (2011, 2016, and 2017) all of them always remembered and reconnected to my phone automatically. So I'm pretty sure this is still a feature the 2022 has... but beginning to think maybe not??

I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of. I searched high and low on the web but surprisingly no one has had this problem it seems. I have a S24 for a phone, so I thought maybe it was the phone so I tried my old phone S10e... same thing. I then tried my daughters iPhone... same thing. The phones pair up nicely and work but it will not remember them once the vehicle is shut off. You will see them listed in the phones section under not connected but they won't connect if you try and hit the connect button. In fact after attempting to connect it finally just punts and says... phone forgotten and deletes it from the list. Same thing if I initiate the connection from the phone.

I took it to the dealer today and they charged me $320 to update the radio. I checked the OTA update option in settings but it said I was up to date. However, the dealership said there were 4 radio telematics module updates I didn't have. OK let's throw $320 at it... Got home and still the same problem.
I've reset to factory settings multiple times but that hasn't helped either. I read something online that in order to completely flush everything from memory, you need to disconnect the negative cable on the battery and let it set 15 minutes. Great, lets try it. Again, same result. But I am wondering if I shouldn't have pulled both cables from the battery..??..

I'm desperate, confused, frustrated and now irritated.
If anyone has experienced this problem and found a solution or if you can think of anything I can try, I'd be most appreciative!

My 22 does not have this issue, so it is not a normal thing. The only issue I have is that I have both a work and personal cell connected at the same time and sometimes have to tell AA which phone to use, even though my personal is set as primary.

On my 2013 I had an issue somewhat similar to yours. I had a Samsung phone (A71 i think it was) and after an Android update it would unpair from the car randomly, several days a week. It was a phone issue and the fix was to run "Network Reset" from the settings menu on the phone, let it reboot and then re-pair. The next Android update fixed that issue. It doesn't sound like this is the same as your issue, but perhaps this info could steer you into a direction that could be helpful. Good luck.
