I was just on TikTok a few minutes ago and a random ad came up for a voltage/short tester for cheap money. You plug it in and it makes a sound as you move up the harness. The salesman proved how he could find a short or an open under the loom. For the amount of money it was I would get one even...
When I was younger, I had a Toyota that was a heavy oil burner. Everybody said it’s just oil. Don’t worry about it. Well, one day I had a misfire. Went through all possibilities like you did. I finally gave up and sold it to the mechanic. He took it apart and told me it had a chipped valve from...
that’s one of the problems with direct injection. Fuel dilution contaminates the oil destroying its lubricating properties. So you may still smell it but it should be a lesser amount
The CV axle has two “joints” under boots that allows the axle to flex and bend steering going over bumps, etc. It’s really not worth replacing the joints on the CV axles individually. Mechanics will replace the entire CV axle because it’s cheaper less labor. If it were me, that’s not where I...
Get a refurbished OEM off eBay and get it programmed. Look for seller floridafobs https://www.ebay.com/itm/324719180116?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=wM-i1TqsTVe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=nkKqMUlYQfS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Something else I should mention. Oil consumption was reduced by at least 50% getting rid of the pressure. I can go 4500-5K and consume 1 quart. It was more than double that consumptionbefore the installation.
Im up north in NH so I experience the same freezing problems you are having. You will read about catch cans hanging off the fresh air tube draining moisture. Pressure oil caps. None of that solves anything. The problem is still there. The engine is direct injected so there is no gas vapor wash...
Unlike the bidirectional orifice hole the PCV valve keeps blowby gas headed towards the intake, not reversing out the fresh air tube. With only fresh air coming in the moisture, clogging and freezing problems in the fresh air tube disappear.
Recently there have been a lot of complaints about failing engines in brand new vehicles. Mainly Hyundai and Toyota. The cause? Appears to be debris from either the casting of the block or other shards of metal from the assembly of the engine. Could that happen to GM? Sure could happen to any...
I suspect the PCV orifice in the intake manifold has plugged again. You can continue to take intake off to clean it. Or retrofit with a PCV valve that makes any PCV related problems go away
Hi. You have a blocked PCV orifice. It’s located inside the intake manifold. When that gets blocked you end up with the moisture in your picture. It can also cause other problems, possibly hesitation. There are different ways to resolve this. Are you handy or someone available to help you?
19. The buildup of moisture/liquid in the air box and in the fresh air PCV tube is a clue that the internal PCV orifice is likely blocked. Hot blow by is reversing direction and pushing out the fresh air tube meeting fresh cool air coming in. That’s how the moisture is created. It’s basically...
That’s one of the problems with the orifice PCV design I was referring to. Hot blowby gas can change direction and exit through the fresh air PCV tube depending on vacuum. When hot blowby meets the cool fresh air coming in you get moisture, rain. Thats bad, and could explain why newer GM engines...
