I wanted a black one, but my choices were limited. I purchased a used Silverado and it had a bad frame that was covered up. The dealer agreed to take it back on trade, but I was limited to their inventory. So silver it is.

Did you take a look at the trans fluid at all? If it is amber and smells burnt, it may be toast already. Do you have any codes? The TCM would light the CEL and give you a code.

Is the CEL on? Do you have any codes? It is external, but usually would set a code. You could have it scanned at most auto parts stores. Are you sure the correct fluid was added?
