I changed my elec steering motor on my 08 equinox. I have a stabilitrak error now. No abs error. I got a scan tool that does SAS angle calibration. It says center wheel. Turn wheel 90deg. Then recenter. But it says my steering angle is -224 deg. And will not proceed. I shut off ign and when I drive I have no error message like befor but it soon says stabilitrak is not ready. And then the service stabilitrak message comes back. Says online the angle sensor is part of column and not serviceable? Any ideas?

I went thru torque angle reset and now power assist is gone. Scan tool may have messed up some parameter. Not driving it due to motor issues so it might take awhile to resolve issue.

Videos show steering angle sensor behind clock spring. So, I took off clockspring assy. And no angle sensor. Read it is inside elec steering motor assy. Which I changed last summer.

Ok. I got another EPS unit. I replaced drive unit and control box. Steering is ok now. But still have stabilitrak error. I thought relearning steering angle would “fix” issue and am unsure how it played into losing power assist on prior unit. Not sure if I want to do relearn on new parts.
