The 2020 Chevy Equinox LT trim offers remote start as part of the optional Confidence & Convenience package. This addendum to the trim costs $2,045. In addition to remote start, the Confidence & Convenience package includes:
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • Heated front seats
  • Blind spot monitoring
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Rear cross traffic alert

You have “proximity” start-within range of your FOB. You do not have remote start.

The remote start option has to be added and installed by the dealer. Needs programming and FOBs if I remember

A couple on internet searches yield that there is ONLY remote start. Usually 200 feet with key fob, and farther if via Chevy app.

How to Use Remote Start on a Chevy Equinox with the Key Fob

If you are within 200 feet of your vehicle in Richlands, you can access remote start with your Chevy key fob. Follow these steps on how to remote start the Chevy Equinox with this method:

  1. Secure the vehicle by pressing the lock button on the Chevy key fob.
  2. Look for the button that resembles a circular arrow. Immediately press and hold this remote start button for at least four seconds.
  3. Once activated, the vehicle’s lights will flash and the engine will turn on.

How to Use Remote Start on a Chevy Equinox with the MyChevrolet App

If you’re familiar with the MyChevrolet app, you can utilize the functionality to remote start your Chevy Equinox. Even better – you can access it from more than 200 feet away. Learn how to remote start the Chevy Equinox in Sneads Ferry by following these steps via your MyChevrolet App:

  1. Make sure you’ve already downloaded the MyChevrolet App and registered your account.
  2. Open the MyChevrolet App and select the “Key Fob” option.
  3. You’ll now be taken to the “Remote Key Fob” portal. Here you have the option to lock or unlock your Equinox, select remote horn/light activation, or remote start.
  4. Press the “Engine Start Button” and enter your PIN.
  5. Your Chevy Equinox should start like clockwork!

I know people that have had their remote start installed by the dealership. I am guessing that you may be out of luck as far as remote starting with your phone app.
