Remote start not working

I have a 2013 Chevy equinox with factory remote start. The remote start all of a sudden stopped working. The power door locks work but not the remote start. When you lock the doors the horn sounds and then you hold down the remote start button for 3 seconds or so and the lights flash but the car doesn’t start. I replaced the battery and still not working. Any ideas as to what would cause this to happen?

is the check engine light on? any emissions related faults will stop the remote start from working
