Around a year or so after I bought my 2018 Equinox, OnStar only had 3 months for free. Visiting with the dealership owner he mentioned they were recommending new owners to not mess with starting up Onstar unless they wanted to pay once the 3 months was up.Not free in Canada. My 2024 EquiEV came with 3 months onStar. Then I would have to add an Onstar subscription to my list of 50 other monthly subscriptions!
I like the vehicle but saying "No Thanks" to add-on plans for extended warranty, service agreement, Onstar subscription, etc. was TEDIOUS. I guess the marketing strategy is "The customer is already paying out a huge sum. Adding thousand, for this-and-that, will make no difference" ???
I would call in and and mention the 8 year plan on 2025s.Got the wife’s ‘25 equinox back in Sept, it DIDN’T come with free OnStar for 8 years. It came with the free 3 months and when we set it up they were mad we wouldn’t put a card on file.![]()
I believe the free-wifi is only 3 months, so if you want to use the built-in Google stuff you will need to purchase a wireless plan. The part that lasts 8 years is being able to use the My Chevrolet App to remote start and all of the other things you can do from there.I would call in and and mention the 8 year plan on 2025s.
A friend bought a Trax in the fall and he got the 8 year plan for free.
Here's the link below. It's grey so it's hard to see.
Yes, the 8 years is the app. Things like starting the car, unlocking the doors, checking the tires, getting a monthly report.I believe the free-wifi is only 3 months, so if you want to use the built-in Google stuff you will need to purchase a wireless plan.
