This my second Equinox but am just now joining the forum. First was a 13', I traded her in with 155K miles on her. Now I have my 19" redline with with the 2.0T and 65K miles. Great car so far.

I am installing a nasty stereo, seat covers and the remote tune from Trifecta. All should be complete in the next week or so. Cannot wait. This is ReRe.

Wow! Nice looking 'nox! If you could detail your stereo install, I am sure there are a bunch of people that would like to see what you do. Also, let us know how the trifecta is.

How do you like the red line? Good speed?

I know the question wasn't for me, but I'll answer as well. I've had my Red Line just over a year, and I absolutely love it. When I started looking at the Equinoxes, my biggest concern was the tiny 1.5L 4 cylinder engine (former sports car owner, with some pretty powerful V-8s). I took one for a test drive, and I asked the sales guy if I could nail it to see what she had. He said yes, so I did. I was floored by the performance of that little turbo, and I knew at that moment that I would be buying one.

That's awesome. Still loving it now?

Sorry for the delay on the reply guys. To answer some of the questions:
  • Yes, I really do like and enjoy the 2.0T. Stock it had some spunk when you really get on it. Plus I love the sporty look of the redline with the racing stripes and 19" wheels.
  • Trifecta tune, the whole process was seamless. From ordering on their website, to receiving the cable in the mail, to actually tuning the car. At regular speeds the only thing I can notice is the trans seems to shift a lot smoother. It really is noticeable. Now, when you really put your foot into it, she pulls! And pulls pretty darn hard. I was chirping the front tires flooring it at about 20-30 mph. Well worth the investment.
  • Second thing I did was put in seat covers. I never understood why the redline looks so good in white with the black wheels and red accents all over. Yet, they put in that strange yellow/orange stitching on the inside. I could not take it anymore. So I ordered some seat covers off amazon. Yes, I was skeptical big time but I could always return them to Kohls and get a full refund so I figured why not give them a try. Guys, they came out better than I could have expected. I wanted that black/red look outside and inside the car. Also, the back seat covers do have a zipper in the middle to allow the pull down armrest). I have pics attached! Here is the description from amazon if you want to give them a look: PTYYDS Seat Covers Compatible with 2018-2024 Equinox Seat Covers Car Seat Protector Replacement for 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 Chevy Equinox Accessories(Black with Red Carbon Fiber). The cover for the center console I had to order separate, but it came out great and matched the seat covers almost identical. Here is that: QianBao Compatible with Chevrolet Equinox 2018-2023 /GMC Terrain 2017-2023 Leather Armrest Box Center Console Cover Red Line. They were a bit of a pain in the azz to install if you want them to look good, but well worth it.
  • Finally, the stereo! By far the most expensive addition, but I have had a stereo in every car I have owned and I wasn't going to stop now. First, I already had the 10" WS6 JL audio sub (it pounds like no other if you have never heard one) and a 900/5 JL audio amp to start. So that was a huge component. I wanted to keep the look 100% stock in case anyone decides to peek inside the car. That has always been a thing for me. So I kept the stock radio and put JL audio tweets, mids and highs in the doors and designated stock spots. If that makes sense. I took out every single stock speaker and put in JL audios. My installer did a masterful job but said the signal coming out of and going to the stock radio sucks azz. Those were his words, LOL. So I had to add an additional Audison amp (amp and something to clean up the signal) as well. But came out glorious. It is loud, clear and thumps. Just how I like it. I also bought a cargo cover to cover the back and the sub. Again, safety and screw anyone looking in trying to be nosey! But, all told the install, wiring, JL audio high, mid and tweet speakers and the extra amp ran me about $4500. Pics of that also. If you notice, they installed everything behind the back seat, under the spare tire hatch, very very slick!
Let me know if you guys have any questions about all of this. Sorry for being long winded but I wanted to share everything with you guys plus document all of this. I hope all of the pics come through ok.
Please let me know your thoughts and reactions, good and bad!
