[Equinox 2021]

2021 Chevy Equinox, rolled off the lot with only 5 miles from the dealer (currently 28,000) and this black issue screen started within 2 months of having it. Today, this radio is now loud and won’t cut off for over 5 minutes. I can’t turn it down or off. I get out the car for hours and come back and the radio is still playing. If I reverse the screen comes on but that’s it. Nothing has worked to fix this issue. The service center at the dealership was not helpful at all. If I take it somewhere else will it void my warranty that I paid extra for?

I'd keep taking it back. Like you said, this should have be taken care of under warranty. I wish I had an easy fix for you but the dealer is my only suggestion. If it means they have to replace the whole thing, that's what they ought to do. Bypass the service department and see if you can't arrange a heart to heart talk with the owner or contact GM. Escalate the issue and see if the service department does suddenly figure out a way to fix it.

It sounds like you have an issue with the radio itself, and the display is still working. My dealer is in a small town and they service everything except the radio, they sub that out. Ask if your dealer does their own work, or where they take their radio issues. Maybe you can bypass them and take it right to the shop that will fix it.
