I have 2019 Equinox, and was told recently that I should be putting higher octane gas in my tank… any thoughts?

Chevy recommends 87 for the 1.5.
Chevy recommends 93 for my 2018 2.0.
I saw one post where some years show 91 in the manual and some years show 93 for the 2.0.

Do you have the 1.5 or 2.0 engine?

Paying any more for more octane that your owner's manual calls for is a waste of money. Making sure you are buying Tier 1 gasoline is not.

I was dismayed to find out that my usual brand of gasoline (BP) was not considered "Top Tier." Then I got to thinking about the Kosher scam, wherein you can get your product the K in a circle approval for the modest price of $600K/year. Really? Kosher Zip Lock bags?
