I have a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. Symptoms, drive for 20 minutes and goes into limp mode. I could use my scan tool and it would drive fine for a couple minutes and then throw a code and go into limp again.

I scanned the system and it threw several codes.
P0520-Engine oil pressure switch circuit (symptom 00)
P0700-Transmission control module requested MIL illumination (symptom 00)
P0601-Control module read only memory performance (symptom 00)

I talked to a mechanic buddy and he suggested replacing the TCM. I bought new and replaced, tossed the old one. Fire the vehicle up, go to drive, absolutely NO throttle response forward or reverse. Car sat for a week after as I was researching, no change. Unhooked the battery for 10 minutes nothing changed in drive but now I have full throttle response in reverse.

I talked to another mechanic and they said I need some code for the new TCM, I never received anything with the new unit, I also cannot find anything online. They said it needs to be programmed to the car. Can this be done without this magic code? Is there any other way to get the code?

From this forum, I recently found out about the gas pedal relearn, will this work in my situation? Can anyone suggest anything else that they have experienced or just an educated guess?

Thank you for any and all help.

I know 100 percent for sure when you put a new TCM, you have to have a scanner in order to program your TCM based on your VIN number. But if you put a used TCM, you don't have to program it. Having said that, try to search on YouTube you might be able to find a video how to do that since you do have a scanner. That is my knowledge since I do have some issues with my 2014 Equinox LS with U0100 and U0101. Through my research I picked that knowledge that I just shared with you. Good luck.

Did you replace the battery prior to this happening?
I replaced the battery after having "Service StabilliTrack" and "Service Steering Power." But the codes U0100 and U0101 didn't go away. So, the is a lack of communication between ECM and TCM. I have checked their connections both are just fine. Any ideas?
