Auto Stop not working. Good or bad for the engine

IMHO, Auto/Stop is harmful when it works do to wear on the starter and engine. Most likely cause is the battery getting old. My 2019 does the same thing because of the age of the battery and I won't replace it until I really have to. At that time I will install a bypass cable.

I'm a fan of the auto stop/start feature. Obviously, something is being reset when the battery is disconnected. There are several things stop/star monitors and if they aren't all within tolerance, it won't work. Something isn't right and it's a shame the dealer's equipment isn't up to the task of finding the issue like they should be able to.
