2022 hood. I need a new one. This one is aluminum. Is there a difference between steel and aluminum besides price ??

GM had a problem we both paint bubbling on the aluminum hoods. Myself, I would prefer the steel, plus it is probably cheaper. For the little amount of weight you will save with aluminum, just skip one meal, and you make up for it.

I'm a bit suspicious. That link lists an OEM part number for this "steel" hood. I'm not sure it's actually a thing. Could be..

I'm not a big fan of aluminum body panels either. Aluminum turns to dust in the rust belt. People believe it's corrosion free. Nope.

I also had the same thought.
If it's OEM, it's aluminum.

another thing to keep in mind is the weight difference. If you change the metal type, you'll need to replace the hood struts too.
