We started our 2020 Equinox, with 25,000 miles, yesterday and was alarmed by the load exhaust noise. Upon investigation we discovered that the flange bolts, on the exhaust flange ahead of the muffler, had completely rusted through and the flange separated causing the noise. Has anyone had a similar experience? Two dealerships have told us this is not covered under warranty.

I would contact Chevy Customer Care, this doesn't seem right. Their number is in your Owner's manual

if chevy will not fix this and you do not have the ability to grind off the bolt head and install new bolts you may try using what they call beam clamps and clamp it. you can get them and most hardware stores can gauranty it but they do put tons of force. bolts would be better but in a pinch good luck

No expert but looks like work was done. That exhaust looks like it was jury rigged into muffler or whatever that device is. Unsure the orientation. The exhausts are different depending upon the year and maybe the engine you have.
