My wife and I use the feature where you can store your individual mirror settings and I am very familiar with how to do that, but my driver side mirror seems to have developed a mind of its own. I have been able to store settings for entry and exit in the past and it remembered them with no problem. Now it’s unreliable. I have noticed that after turning the car off (after driving), when I open the door, I can watch the mirror move up or down to a setting that I have not stored. Now I must set the mirror every time I drive. Any ideas. It worked fine for almost 3 years. BTW, the seat memory works fine, I do not use the reverse tilt memory feature and I have it turned off in settings.

Weird electrical gremlins are often signs it is time to replace the battery. I would at minimum have the battery tested.

I struggled with this issue for a few days while setting up the driver memory seating position.
Finally found that the exit position needs to be set separate, the top button, not 1 or 2. The set 1 or 2 needs to have seat and mirrors where you want them before saving. Then leave the mirrors alone move the seat to exit position press set and the exit which will save for both memory places the same. Oh and for some reason only passenger mirror was selected for memory which kept it going to where it was before adjustments.

This may be too late, but try your other keyfob. I was having personal settings issues and found that when I switched to the other fob, problems resolved. It needed a new battery.

Actually, my issue has gotten worse. With just myself and one fob in car the passenger mirror is moving down or up and even in/out randomly. Keep memorizing position, turned down in reverse, shut off exit memory. Nothing yet has stopped this random and not always same actions.

so no one else reading this has seen this occurrence. 2 of 3 times starting the car, either the well set mirror goes up or down as far as possible and also in or out. I reposition and all good until I end the trip, turn off engine. The next start it is the same as I said 2of3 times approx.

I’ve been having this same issue for about a year. It doesn’t always happen but the passenger mirror has a mind of it own. After turning off and exiting the vehicle it will move all the way up or all the way to the right. It’s almost a different position every time. It sometimes will go weeks without any issues then it will start up again. I turned off any mirror functions in the settings that adjust the mirrors while in reverse. That didn’t fix it either.

sorry for your trouble but also glad I am not alone.
Today mirror went all the up, then after a restart all the way down. whenever I reset to desired position and memorise, it seems the memory thinks it is elsewhere and not where it actually is so it goes there next time. Work in progress, in the end, I may unplug the motor and make it manual

I had a similar issue with the right (passenger) side mirror. I checked for the issue with both key (RKE) fobs. It occurred with only one of them. As per another earlier suggestion (thank you), replace the problem fob battery (CR2032). That mirror has been functioning correctly for the past four days.

@Don Cherry
post again in a week or so. I get 3-4 days routinely with no incident and then every startup have to reposition passenger mirror. I will test the key fob and swap with my wife as a test. As far as it should be the ket fob determines driver positions for seat and mirrors. This suggests the keyfob holds the memory and not the car.

As I understand it, the Body Control Module recognizes which key fob is being used. All driver settings are stored in the module, not the key fob. So, if the fob battery is weak, the module may not fully recognize key fob. This can cause other stored driver setting anomalies as well. In my case, another two days have gone by and my right mirror is operating fine.

well I went ahead and changed the battery on a remote that was not showing any other problems. Able to lock/unlock from 50 feet, able to start car, to roll down windows.

The mirror on the passenger side previoulsy being erractic is now firmly fixed to the memorised position. CHANGE THE BATTERY WORKED.

It is Thursday 5 days later and the mirror changed position on its own. Back to the drawing board
