2018 NOX 1.5 AWD Transfer Case Fluid Change

Anyone have any great ideas on how to fill the transfer case, since the fill plug is hidden behind a heat shield? Yes, I removed the bolts holding the shield, but, still could not move it out of the way to get my transfer tube in. Now, I should explain, I never drain fluids until I know how to fill them back up. To To the point I make sure the fill plug actually comes out first. Thoughts? Experience this youself?

First, smart for verifying you can put fluid in before draining old fluid out.

There have been post here in the past about people having trouble with the heat shield but I can't find anything about exactly how to handle it. I think if you take a fresh look at it, you'll figure it out. I often solve hard challenges after I take a break and come back and realize I was overlooking something simple.

Old thread here, but what I did today was remove the three 10mm bolts from the heat shield, which allowed me to shift the shield to the right and wedge it there with a piece of wood. I was then able to shove a section of clear vinyl ~3/8" tubing into the fill hole. I shoved the tubing onto my squeeze bag of Valvoline synthetic 75w90 and was easily able to get it filled that way until oil started to dribble out the fill plug.
