2017 equinox need help finding PCV to replace engine light on

2017 Equinox Rough Idle Engine Light appeared Had vehicle Scanned said to change exhaust and intake solenoids which were done as well as cam sensor, same codes show after replacement of parts. Bought pcv can't locate to replace. Vehicle burning oil all of a sudden. Has weak acceleration when entering highway. Help would be appreciated to locate the PCV , I heard in some vehicles it is built into the valve cover ??

How many miles on it? Do you know what the exact codes were for the cam phaser solenoids?

Reason I ask is, you may have excessive timing chain wear, which is throwing the valve timing off enough to cause performance issues, higher than normal crankcase pressure, etc.

GM 2.4L ECOTEC Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) SystemModels: GM Terrain, Chevrolet Equinox 2010-201728 December 2019This system utilizes a fixed orifice vacuum port in the intake manifold, baffled ventilation in the camshaftcover and air/oil separator and reservoir in the air intake plenum. There is no PCV valve thatregulates air flow under varying intake manifold, instead it uses a fixed orifice at idle and deceleration,and the baffled ventilation and reverse air flow when the engine is under load and throttle body is open.This is a closed PCV system and all air flow is metered through the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or othermeasured sources. The fixed orifice provides predictable air flow and pressure differential for use bythe Engine Control Module (ECM) to accurately regulate fuel control at idle and deceleration, especiallyin the more commonly used fuel cutoff, lean burn conditions. The small orifice also serves to limit oilvapor and droplets from being drawn into the intake manifold. This is especially important for GDIengines prone to intake valve carbon build-up.

Just so happens the timing belt blew and ruined the engine at 80,000, dealership replaced most of engine, current code is P0016, replace VCT which I have already done, code was cleared and re-appeared even though part replaced. running rough - burning oil - I read somewhere to replace PCV solenoid but I can't find it and can't find a video either on replacement process. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Vehicle Info : 2017 Chevrolet Equinox LT 2WD (4 Cylinders K 2.4L DI DOHC 145 CID) Current Mileage 85K

Rick, awesome information, I wondered if it had a PCV as I could not find it. I appreciate the help. Hopefully I can find the faulty part/sensor as I can rule out the PCV.

Did you get GM parts for the VCT etc? I have heard that a lot of the aftermarket parts are suspect for things like this. Good luck figuring this out.

I suspect the PCV orifice in the intake manifold has plugged again. You can continue to take intake off to clean it. Or retrofit with a PCV valve that makes any PCV related problems go away

Use an oil filler cap modded with a grommet and a PCV valve connected to a catch can connected to the brake booster line. IMG_7081.jpeg

Unlike the bidirectional orifice hole the PCV valve keeps blowby gas headed towards the intake, not reversing out the fresh air tube. With only fresh air coming in the moisture, clogging and freezing problems in the fresh air tube disappear.

Modified that hose after condensation froze in it and messed something up due to back pressure, can't remember what I had to do, happened 8-9 years ago.
