2009 Equinox steering wheel controls added, does it need a BCM recalibration?

I have a 2009 Equinox that I've added the steering wheel controls at the same time I did a bunch of other stuff including the replacement of the dashboard harness (long story short, I was chasing what turned out to be a bad ground, and along the way I replaced the whole dash harness with one from an LT with all the options...)

So at any rate, no functionality from the steering wheel controls... Am I correct in suspecting I need to do an SPS recalibration to the BCM in order for it to recognize the steering wheel controls?
