Hi, I recently purchased a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox 3.4v6 FWD it has 61,000 miles and I am replacing the thermostat, all hoses, coolant ect and I am having difficulty finding one of the coolant pipe bypass hoses. I found the replacement GM 12582446 Adapter Assembly and host GM part number 14156S however the one behind it not having any luck.

I snapped a pic and was curious if anyone knows this part number and/or what they replaced it with. Any help advice would be great.

thanks

61k miles? Nice. It’s 2007 so almost 20 yrs. I hope there is no underbody rust issues. Arkansas might have less rust issues. The “thin” unibody likes to rust over time. You can get that hose at junkyard if required. I’ve never seen one fail. And I’ve done headgaskets on 10+.

It has no rust at all, it is from Arizona/Nevada desert area I think might use 5/8 hose will see. Arkansas don't have rust problems we get snow/ice but summers are really humid so more of a sauna I am used to it.

They do salt the roads in winter but nothing to major I keep other ones cleaned off underneath overall really only thing here is dirt roads or if you live on one dirt/mud can get caked up. So we got dirt/mud underneath instead of rust. (y)

thank you for replying!

I think hose has a slight curve so bulk hose should work. I fix them so buy/sell. Easy to find. But do I like driving 20 yr old rig? I’d like a newer sedan. I had a leased civic. Boring. I have 2 equinoxes and a vue. I’m sick of suvs.
