It is a cool idea. I also agree with the comparison with the trains. It really is disorienting. I had mine wired like that in my Sierra and I hardly ever used it. The only thing I thought was cool is the button that trigged the camera would light up a section of the dash with a small l.e.d. when...
Sorry for the very late reply. No I did reverse light. I wouldn’t mess with the camera. A lot of vehicles go off of the reverse lights. In fact if you get an after market radio most instructions say to tie into the reverse lights. Probably because the rear camera is right there. I wouldn’t run...
Actually it’s easy. There are a lot of post about people changing out their reverse lights and the reverse screen not cutting off. If you change out the factory reverse light with a non canbuss bulb your reverse camera will always be triggered. Problem is you wont be able to switch back meaning...
Are you saying that the radio screen doesn’t come on or you can’t hear anything but the radio does show on the screen? If the radio comes on but you don’t hear anything check your fuse box for the amplifier fuse. All sounds that come from your car go through the factory radio.
I know I’m a bit late but you shouldn’t have too hard of a time finding them. Crutchfield is a really good resource for finding what you need. As far as the speakers why put 6.5 in the front? Why not go with the 6X9’s?
Big Papi is right. If your using a weak ham radio just tap off off the fuse box. Problem is ham radios use more power the farther they reach out. If you’re going to use the fuse box make sure that you fuse it properly. If you try and pull too much amps through a 18 gauge wire it will melt.
Big...
Depending on your model you will need to put the key fob in the cup holder or the center console box. Im not sure why it works but I had trouble right after I got my equinox with it going into theft mode. I would have to let it sit in the center console box for at least an hour then it would reset.
Im sure you know but in case you don’t you can also turn auto stop off by shifting into L and pressing the up button till you reach the highest gear. Amazon also sells a $5 to $10 harness that turns it off.
Your good. I. Would have put it directly on the positive terminal but that’s splitting hairs. Really the way to screw that up is to fasten it to one of the fuses on the left side of the positive terminal. If one of those fuses blow all 5 of those fuses need to be changed.
Really the safest way to get power under your hood is with a mm-vc1 from mechman altertaters. Others make it for a little cheaper but mechman sells them with a plug that when plugged in will make your car ignore that fact that you’re controlling the alternator and not it. There isn’t any...
Going back to the dynamat did you put it on the tire wells? I put some down on the floor under the stair tire but like you said it made some but not enough of a difference.
I can help you out. I have a 2018 and from what I understand they are pretty much the same. On the drivers side under the dash behind the carpet there is a pretty big rubber grommet about 2”X4” if i remember right. If it’s exactly like mine you can pull it out a little BUT when you put it back...
I used to have a gmc Sierra and the same thing would happen with the shaking on stop. I can’t remember if the rotors or the breaks were bad but it was one of them. It took me forever to find it because both were new. I don’t have any idea about the knocking. I’m not sure if this is as helpful as...
I have a 2018 and found out that even with the highest dollar kit from Crutchfield I would retain nothing by changing out the radio. Made me sick since I have a nice Kenwood touchscreen that I wanted to install.
Hello new user and first post. I have a 18 equinox and I’m about to drop upgrades in all of the doors and add a couple of amps and subwoofers. I’m curious if anybody got around to changing them out and the problems they had. Also if there is a post that someone with the third gen has done a full...
