4" is a lot to lower a vehicle. I suspect it will cause tons of issues with speed bumps, driveways on hills, etc. you may want to check out a low rider forum that will help you lower the car when you get in and out, but not while driving. Some type of hydraulics may be needed.
Most independent tests say that for the very little, if any HP gain, it is not worth it. Especially with the filters that need to be oiled. But it is your decision.
I would expect some type of financial compensation for an error like that. If you didn't catch it early, you could have done engine damage. I would try to get in writing what they did...just in case.
In the northeast, come winter, they switch to a winter grade of gasoline which has less BTU s and will decrease your gas mileage. Also, do you remote start your car ? That will decrease your gas mileage to zero during that time period.

I would hate to be the helper in. Bulletin 2. Run it at WOT, and held it with the brakes engaged, and then have the help loosen some bolts. Wow, OSHA would be all over this procedure. No thanks , I don't want to be the helper.
Since your wife is not complaining, I would suggest that it is the difference between a car and a truck. There will be a difference. If you drive it long enough, you'll get used to it, and then your wife will complain about the brakes on the truck. Sorry.
