i measured the 05. it is 88" long and has a 3.25" dia hub at the trans output. the 07 i measured is 86" long and has a 4.5" dia hub. the hub design is different in addition to being a larger dia. so, they are not interchangeable. i would assume the transaxle for the 05 is different then the 07...

Already answered. Darn, old thread. Had same issue. The thermostat is stuck open. And you then get a hot motor error. Code 0118 cold and 0128 hot? Can’t recall exact code. But GM wants you to fix it by giving you dire warnings. Change the thermostat.

I have an 05 equinox AWD and I removed driveshaft due to bad carrier bearing. I found a nice driveshaft from an 07 but I looked up the specs and it is longer? Anyone know if 05-07 are the same? And if not, why did they change the length?

ordered new struts. will see if it makes any diff in ride. noise. rattle. quiver.

pretty sure some of it is from the steering column knuckle. i tried tweaking the knuckle/bolt under the dash and no luck. maybe a different shaft from a junkyard nox might help? they are 60 or so online.
