you can see the tube inlet is lower on egr. and the elec plug is now horizontal where the old style egr has a vertical elec plug. l have replaced them and no programming is required

Yes, offset could be an issue. I had 2005 17” five spokes that rubbed on calipers on a 2007. you can lightly grind caliper for clearance if you are really stubborn. so, center bore is different. Studs are different. Offset may be issue.

My sister bought equinox with 20k miles in 2010. I drove it and it had rattle. My kid bought it 2 yrs ago and rattle remained. So it’s my problem to solve. On icy, rutted roads it is REALLY annoying. I can’t imagine any GM car would rattle at 20k miles. Haha

You can unhook hoses leading to heater core. You don’t have to remove hoses at firewall. Makes flushing the heatercore easier. There is a tee fitting on hose that goes to surge tank so pinch that off otherwise water will flow up to tank instead of into heatercore. Not a big deal

I have my intake off now to do head gaskets. It’s pretty tough. Cast alum ya know. Odd. A used intake is $30 or so at junkyard. IF you really want to fix it. Give you chance to change intake gaskets. Which is no fun.

Aisin af33 trans uses toyo t-4 fluid. I pulled the heads a few days ago and drained trans. Easy to reach fill port with head removed. 4qts fluid every 4-5 years and it’s good to go. It’s got a 1” drain plug so its easy to drain.

Got a 2008 yesterday. 170k. Almost new tires. Probably head gaskets. Battery was 4volts. Got it started. Runs fine. Yes coolant fluctuates from 200-220f. Surge tank did rise when hot. Fans are running. Hoses are hot.
