I’ve been hearing a crackling sound that seems to be coming from the top of the driver’s side window of my 23 RS. I can reach up and touch the trim and it makes the same noise. The sound gets worse at high speeds on the interstate. I’m thinking the adhesive holding the trim has come loose or something like that. Doesn’t appear to be any damage to the rubber seal when looking at the open door. Wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and what the solution is.

What Rit333 said. I had the plastic on the pillar between doors on driver side keep coming loose. I thought it was due to my fat arse rubbing against it. I noticed that some of the clips were deformed, as if they were never installed properly at the factory. Showed the dealer, on went a new piece and it never came loose again. Just an example that trim pieces are covered by the B2B.

I've had this same problem off and on again since I bought my 25 year model. They've tried stuffing padding in the head liner above the window and that helped some but every once in a while it comes back. I'm thinking the outside temperature had something to do with it but not always so I'm not sure. I've got recordings of it that I've played for the service guys and I think they are still trying to figure it out. I can push on it to make it go away and, like you said, push on it to make the same type noise. So it's an on going battle for me.

Sorry to hear that garysh. I like the car a lot but this is defiantly ruining the Equinox experience for me. Hard to believe that a design flaw like that could get through development and rollout.
