2023 Equinox Whistle

Hi all,

I have a 2023 Equinox with under 10k miles on it. I consistently hear what I would call a "post acceleration whistle". I'm accelerating, then when I completely let off the gas to coast, I hear a short "whew" whistle sound. It almost sounds like a noise a semi truck makes but much quieter. Has anyone else experienced this?

Seems to correlate with turbo noise. Any loose clamps or air leaks will cause instant issues with these, so I don't think it's that. If it's running great with no check engine light. I'd drive on. 10K miles sounds like she needs to be driven a lot more. 2023 was the first year for the LSD 1.5T. Some mild improvements over the LYX. Not sure if the turbo is different on the LSD. It doesn't look it.

The waste gate on the turbo is very light. I have heard they can stick open. If you are also experiencing sluggish acceleration maybe that is the case.
