Please Help

Hello,
I'm having an issue with my 2012 Chevy Equinox LT. Key is stuck in ignition, and the shifter is stuck in park. I looked at a few other threads and checked if my brake lights work and they do. Has been really puzzling me. Any advice/assistance will be appreciated.

Do know this, Chevy had major problems with ignitions on at least the Cobalt. I had intermittent problem on my 2002 Avalanche. GM's tech really screwed things up. When they fixed the ignition switch, the new part had the same part number as the old one apparently to hide that it was in fact a defect. They got caught. So they replaced a lot ignitions and had to do again when they found out what the tech did. Sorry can't remember the year but maybe around 2012. Google will let you know; look for warranty fix.
