Eventually, the battery died, and I had it towed to the nearest chevy dealership. They called me a week later, and told me the battery was destroyed and that was the cause. They replaced the battery, but then called and told me it didn't fix the issue. They needed to investigate further. Another week later, they tell me it's a faulty gearshift control. And unfortunately, the gearshift control is on backorder, with ETA. I've been waiting 2 months, with no end in sight. I was able to find a gearshift control on ebay and purchased it.But I'm thinking now that the gearshift cannot be the problem. The doors unlock when I put it in park. That means the gearshift is communicating effectively, yes? They haven't mentioned the ignition lock cylinder or the ignition lock solenoid. I, admittedly, know nothing about cars, but have been googling extensively. Are they trying to rip me off?</blockquote>
