I have an offer on my 1972 Blazer so this made me start a thread
just to see how attached are we to our toys and is there a price?

I have had offers in the past on vehicles and turned them down
only for it to bite me in the freaking arse later down the road !!!!!

I have no idea just how serious they are, but am pondering it.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing I have is unobtainable, lol

What would you do?

If I had something that I liked and enjoyed and possibly seldom tinkered with it and this situation would arise I would keep it. Unless of course I was brown bagging it to make ends meet and not puttng money into savings then I would sell it in a jiffy lube.

Another reason that I might sell it if I had my eye on another project. I think it would be better to sell and buy again in this case. If you have too much crap it may get hard to keep up with resulting in upkeep and value falling...

What I was offered is very attractive considering it's still
a project and not even painted yet. Bills are not an issue
for us currently, and not sure what I would do with the $.

I'm of the same opinion as you....especially in a "item" that will constantly loose value of the years. I have some collectible items (gold coin sets) that I would not part with even if they paid above book value.....I hope to eventually leave these behind to my children (if I ever have them lol)...Even if I was w/o work, I would be hard pressed to pull them out of the bank to sell them, its a very nice set :).

if I did it, I would probably build a nicer shop. I have a 24 x 24 now
but it's next door to me. (I bought my neighbor out in Fall of 2009)

Already have plans drawn up for 1 much nicer, and just a lil bigger.

I was going to the bank two years ago with the Wife
to finalize ours when our Neighbor dropped his in our
lap. It was hard to pass up being that it bordered us,
we are on a dead end cove in the country, it was 5
acres, a 16 x 80 mobile home, 24 x 24 wired shop, a
6 person Jacuzzi, & has a back up generator for 58K.

Yeah. I would hate myself forever if I passed on that.
