On my '13 Volt playlists on a thumbdrive worked great. Play the list, stop, get out & do whatever, start the vehicle and the playlist started right where it left off. My '19 Equinox the playlist starts fine but the next time you start the vehicle the list is "empty"; go to a different list and that one plays fine. Start the vehicle again, the 2nd list is "empty" but the 1st list is playable again. Can demonstrate without fail to the dealer and they say there must be a problem with the drive. It's the EXACT SAME DRIVE I used in the Volt! In my '24 EquinoxEV (traded the Volt) with the GoogleOS all the songs on the drive get sorted alphabetically into a "default playlist" which will start everytime the usb is selected as the source. My custom playlists will index and play fine, but the next time the vehicle starts the song that was playing will finish and the next song played will be the 'next' song in the default list. The system always wants to go back to the 'default' list. Plus, the system 'limits scrolling while driving' so if you want to get to the middle of a 100 song playlist you need to hope for a long stoplight so you can 'scroll'. Same behavior if I select a specific album - album plays in order but the next time the vehicle is started the next song played is from the default list. What method are you using to move the playlist from windows media player to the drive? Typically I use SyncPlaylist. Not sure if there are other tried&true methods or not; I've had mixed results trying other things so I keep going back to the syncplaylist utiity.
