Hello from sunny and sometimes cold southern Maine. We bought a 2019 FWD Equinox TD in January to replace our trusty 11 year old 2008 Pontiac Vibe. Needed a little more room and quiet for travel when we usually take our bicycles and other gear on longer trips.

The Vibe had also been our dedicated Winter car, but the Equinox will not fill that spot. That rusty honor goes to the car with most miles. Hope to see whether this Chevy will stand the test of time and miles. We've had great luck with all the cars we've bought through the years except one. Our batting average overall has been pretty good, car wise. Hope to learn from the experiences of others in this forum. I have not lurked here at all, so will be a total "noob" experience on my part.

So far with only a little over 2,000 miles on the odo, we do like the Equinox. I did try out just about all the small SUVs in this class and was actually favoring the CR-V, until we drove the Chevy. Surprised at the ride, safety nanny stuff and eventually the value vs price. CR-V has more interior cargo space, but with the removable floor, I was able to fit a couple of bicycles standing up and attached to fork holders in the Equinox. The clincher was the performance and indicated MPGs that the turbo diesel was delivering during our almost 70 mile (keep it overnight) test drive.
